What is the metal that turns your skin green?

I want to go out and get myself some jewlery and not spend a whole bunch of money on it, but I dont want to get something so cheap that it will turn my skin green!! I dont remember what it is that does that though! Copper? nickel?|||Yeah, just to verify the answer above... it is copper.|||wth! copper is blue dude, iron (ll) is green, iron (lll) is brown.|||Hi ,I am Don. The metal that will turn even itself is copper . Look up to Church roof covering and very often you will find the colour green is very often noticeable. This is copper reacting to the atmosphere ,and this colouring will form a green tint on skin . A cheap way to wear copper ,and to prevent this happening ,is to spray the item with a lacquer. This will insulate the copper in the item from direct contact with your skin . Wear it with confidence ,but it will need topping up as the lacquer wears through ,all best Don|||copper and brass its so cool you can kinda... never mind|||copper|||Most metals that are not gold or silver will turn your skin a certain colour. Metals like iron, copper, tin, and some alloys of nickle. If you go to a jewelery story, they will more than likely have metals that will not tint the skin. A lot of cheap jewelery is made with iron or tin, but will have a thin coating of gold or silver on the surface to help prevent this. the coating will wear off after a while, but it is a lot less expensive.|||brass|||It%26#039;s copper.
