How do you feel about people bleaching their skin to look like something they are not?

One of my friends has been bleaching her skin for the past few years now, I%26#039; curious to ask her why but I don%26#039;t want to offend her. What are your thoughts on this if your skin was dark, would you bleach your skin?

Is it the same as a person who gets cosmetic surgery or bleaches their hair a different color? Why or why not?|||it%26#039;s the same as people who sit in tanning beds until they look like sweet potatoes. It comes from insecurity, I%26#039;d guess, and comes as a childish reaction. People are discontent with themselves, sometimes internally rather than externally, and so they manipulate themselves as much as they can. In a way, they%26#039;re running away, hence the term childish. Society can have an impact as well but primarily, underlying insecurities are the cause. I don%26#039;t think all cosmetic changes come from insecurity though. For example, changing ones hair color could simply be for fun, or for artistic expression. It only becomes insecure when you dye your hair to get away from your natural hair color. I%26#039;d say that bleaching the skin comes from deep, underlying hurts, and maybe a bit of self-hate, or shame. Metaphysical Counselor Louise L. Hay says that the skin protects our individuality. And that skin problems, such as Vitiligo, come from feelings of not belonging, or feeling left out. Perhaps your friend isn%26#039;t only self conscientious of her actual skin, but of other things in her life that leave her with a feelings of isolation.|||in my opinion i wouldn%26#039;t care its their life and they have their reasons
